If all you can think about when you read the name of the winery, is the band Train, then you’d actually be dead on. Named after the band’s songs, the wines run the gamut from Pinot Grigio to Cab Sauv. They also happen to make chocolate, and donate the proceeds from the winery to Family House. While all of that is delightfully musical and charitable, how is Save Me, San Francisco Marry Me Rosé?
Sight: A more moderate shade of pink with touches of copper.
Smell: Underripe cherries and fresh strawberries pick up quickly. There’s a vaguely twizzler like background. Hints of something earthy come in as well.
Sip: The body is bright, and light, with plenty of slightly underripe red fruit. There’s a good whack of currant and cherry, with plenty of strawberry on the side. Weird candy flavors pop in and out like surprise pop ups. There’s a bit of greenery as well and white pepper.
Savor: The finish gets a little tannic, and leans into cherry skin and plum skin. The finish is surprising in it’s duration.
I’m not sure that I would personally marry, Save Me, San Francisco Marry Me Rosé. While there are some nice things going on with the fruit, it’s a little bit of a choppy run. Sadly, in my own humbly uneducated music experience, the song is better than the wine. If you’re dying for rosé, Save Me, San Francisco Marry Me Rosé is passable, just not proposal worthy.
