The history of the united states is long, and like a lot of modern history, better documented than the ancient world. In part, that’s because of the work of archivists, individuals charged with the preservation, control, and organization of records deemed import to culture or history. While most folks will never meet an archivist, they do incredibly important work, and are part of the reason we can go back and examine past historical records. While The Archivist Rosé wouldn’t qualify to be archived, might it qualify to be worth drinking?
Sight: A pretty rose like pink, uniform throughout and bright.
Smell: The first impression is cherries, followed by a more artificial note of candy raspberry. Macerated, jammy strawberries add body, and almost have a hint of cream to them. Cranberries and pomegranate skirt in and out.
Sip: The flavor of bright, slightly overripe strawberries comes through powerfully, and is complimented by raspberry, cherry, and cranberry. The body is middling it’s weight, but the brightness of the wine itself keeps things moving.
Savor: The ending is clean, and pulls in more strawberry, and a slightly underripe cranberry note.
The Archivist Rosé is a tasty rosé with a lot of good flavors going. Soaring strawberry and raspberry provide a great base, and the texture and brightness of the wine make it good rosé. There are some rogue flavors here and there, but ultimately, they don’t ruin the experience. If you’re looking for a good wine, with a label set to remember those that remember our history, then The Archivist Rosé is a well rounded choice.
