Sometimes, wine brands are hard to track down. As is the case of 2014 3 Girls Rosé, a wine which unfortunately happens to have one of the least searchable names I’ve run across. Despite not being particularly googleable, this wine seems to have hailed from Oak Ridge wineries, who have since scrubbed any trace of the 3 Girls from their website, except perhaps in the descriptions stuck in the search crawler. While this is inconvenient if you’re in the store, it’s not such a problem if you run across 2014 3 Girls Rosé at a party. But should you drink it?
Sight: 2014 3 Girls Rosé pours a pretty, pale pink hue with a slightly hot pink core, and watery edges.
Smell: There’s an interesting top note of cinnamon that gives way to roses, baked raspberries, and strawberries.
Sip: 2014 3 Girls Rosé dances lightly across the tongue from the start, getting a little sweet but managing to balance with some brightness. There’s explosion of lychee, cantaloupe, and watermelon flavors that are backed up with floral notes.
Savor: The ending is clean, with hits of floral and watermelon that fades gradually
2014 3 Girls Rosé is clean, composed, and leans into melon flavors more than a typical rosé. The fruit forward nature is lovely, and hits that refreshing note that a good rosé strives for. While some may not like the subtle pop of sweetness, as rose goes, this is a unique one. If you’re in the mood for something different in your rosé, then 2014 3 Girls Rosé might just be the wine for you.
Verdict: Melon, Rose, Cinnamon, Refreshing
